Our main event during this trip was to join a wine tasting tour in Barossa Valley. With hot, dry summers and cool, moderate winters, the Barossa is one of the world’s great wine region.
We took BAROSSA VALLEY DAY TOUR by NAVITOUR SYDNEY, which departed from Adelaide city at 7:45.
Firstly the tour brought us to Toy Factory at Adelaide Hills. The big Rocking Horse, souvenir shop, cafe and a wildlife park are available. Since our aim was to enjoy vineyards, sorry I was not interested in those…
The next point was The Whispering Wall. You can try whispering at the end of Wall of the dam. Believe it or not, your voice can be clearly heard at the other side of the wall in spite of 140 m distant. Yes it is Clearly!
1. JACOBS CREEK
The first winery was Jacobs Creeks. You will see modern and clean buildings and a fine vineyard view.
Vineyard view from the Jacobs Creek building
Tasting commenced after a tour inside the Jacobs creek.
Several kinds of wines could be tried and we found a couple of favorite bottles. We purchased those before leaving the winery.
Moving to another winery, you will see vineyards. I would like to see vineyards in summer which would provide different views.
The winery is relatively small but the size does not matter.
A tour took place inside the building. We took lunch (Pizza) at a restaurant.
4. WOLF BLASS
Wolf Blass was the modernest winery compared with others we visited today.
As it is the forth winery, I was actually full.. I could not take all glasses for tasting. I might make a mistake in terms of pace on how many glasses to be taken at each winery.
As it is the fifth winery, I was actua….
Some people also joining this tour looked full and drunk, so I think from winery’s point of view the order is very important. Lambert was indeed nice, beautiful, one brand of red wine was impressive to me however a problem was that this is the fifth winery….
After stopping by a lookout, we headed to Adelaide city.
If you love wine this kind of winery tour is definitely enjoyable. As we don’t need to drive we can drink until fulfilled. However since it is a tour which means there are other participants, we should keep polite attitude, needless to say!
The driver was really nice guy, Many thanks.
